The instanceof opertor can be used only to test objects (or null) with class types that are in the same class hierarchy.
The equality operators (== and != ) compare reference variables when used on objects, and values when used on primitives.
The >> operator shifts to the right while keeping the sign bit. The >>> operator moves all bits to the right, including the sign bit.
The & and | operator are used for integer or boolean values only.
The && and || operators are used for boolean types only.
Floating-point numbers may be cast to integral types.
Larger number values may be cast to smaller types explicitly, and smaller types to lager ones implicitly.
Supperclass object references may be cast to subclass types explicitly.
