drools系统一些名词和基本概念

KIE（ Knowledge Is Everything）是jBoss里面一些相关项目的统称，下图就是KIE代表的一些项目，其中我们比较熟悉的就有jBPM和Drools。

 

 

The process of researching an integration knowledge solution for Drools and jBPM has simply
used the "droolsjbpm" group name. This name permeates GitHub accounts and Maven POMs.
As scopes broadened and new projects were spun KIE, an acronym for Knowledge Is Everything,
was chosen as the new group name. The KIE name is also used for the shared aspects of the
system; such as the unified build, deploy and utilization.

Drools（JBoss Rules ）具有一个易于访问企业策略、易于调整以及易于管理的开源业务规则引擎，符合业内标准，速度快、效率高。业务分析师或审核人员可以利用它轻松查看业务规则，从而检验是否已编码的规则执行了所需的业务规则。
Drools是为Java量身定制的基于Charles Forgy的RETE算法的规则引擎的实现。具有了OO接口的RETE,使得商业规则有了更自然的表达。

JBPM，全称是Java Business Process Management（业务流程管理），它是覆盖了业务流程管理、工作流、服务协作等领域的一个开源的、灵活的、易扩展的可执行流程语言框架。jBPM是公开源代码项目，使用它要遵循 ASL(Apache License Version 2.0)和EULA(JBoss End User License Agreement)协议。
jBPM在2004年10月18日，发布了2.0版本，并在同一天加入了JBoss，成为了JBoss企业中间件平台的一个组成部分，它的名称也改成JBoss jBPM。

OptaPlanner 是一个本地搜索和优化的工具，独立于Drools Planner 。

UberFire 是新的workbench工程，提供类似Eclipse工作台功能。

KIE-WB 是整合了Guvnor 、drools、jbpm的uber工作台。jbpm-wb是虚的。

Guvnor 是drools的规则管理系统。
The Guvnor project is home to the Governance Repository utilities and tools. The Overlord project for "Governance" requires a repository for governing and managing artifacts, such as rule and process definitions, service descriptions, databases schemas, etc. This is Guvnor! The repository stores the artifacts and provides services for querying, uploading, exploring, curating, and managing them. Storing descriptions of services, along with their metadata, contracts, configuration files, etc., and then managing the lifecycle of these services from analysis through deployment, and allowing access to this information through various interfaces (web, Eclipse) is what Guvnor is all about. A user may locate some reusable XSD via the web, sync it into their eclipse workspace, and then have it shared via an atompub "feed" to runtime systems - this is all guvnor.
