SSD1623 is a CMOS generic display driver with controller. It has 95 segments, 1 background segment and 1 common output. Each segment / common is capable of 3-voltage levels output. It is designed with programmable display waveform which could match to many different display technology and applications. SSD1623 equipped with SPI interface with hardware address map setting pin, allowing two or more SSD1623 connected to same SPI bus, increasing the available number of segments. Flexible and power saving Charge pump is built in for generating high voltage (up to 38V) for panel driving. VCI regulator is embedded to accept direct power supply from Lithium battery.

The 1.1” active area contains 28.8 X 6.04 mm. The display is a segment display cell, with driver IC and controller design. An integrated circuit contains SPI interface, control logic, oscillator, charge pump, data RAM, LUT, common voltage, are supplied with each display module. This document applies to the E Ink ®Holdings Inc. SURF™ SDM products manufactured by E Ink Holdings Inc. The E Ink Holdings Inc. SURF™ SDM products are designed to be incorporated into a device, including electronics and driver for operating the segment display cell. This specification document is for use by E Ink Holdings Inc. and its customers. E Ink Holdings Inc. will be responsible for maintaining and controlling document revisions for this specification.
