- DATEADD(day/month/year…,num,date)
example:
select DATEADD(month, 600, '2006-11-01 00:00:00.000')
We can get: 2056-11-01 00:00:00.000
Here is explain : “600” means 600 months and it is 50 years and after “select dateadd” we will get 56 years from ‘2006-11-01’. Then it is “2056-11-01”
- DATEDIFF(day/month/year…,startdate,enddate)
example:
select DATEDIFF(month,'2013-12-1','2056-11-01')
we can get : 515
Here is explain : it will be 42.9 years between ‘2013-12-1’ and ‘2056-11-01’ .That is 515 months. Then it is 515
- Combination
select DATEDIFF(month,'2013-12-01',DATEADD(month, 600, '2006-11-01'))
We will get the same result as upside.
For an instance of my work:
select loanterm,fst_paydue,* from originfo where loan_no='0017359902'
Get the ‘loanterm’ and ‘fst_paydue’
Then
select DATEDIFF(month, datecollectiondate,DATEADD(month, loanterm,fst_paydue))
