The problem of extent not match in ArcMap.

When doing the lab 4 in 5557 Spatial Analysis, I suddenly find that the criteria gases points can not overlay with the state boundary.shp, or the SW_sunset.shp that ANN gave us today. The state and SW subset all have extent of 10,0000 meters while the gas data(SO2, NO2,CO O3) have only extent of 100 meters.

Therefore the two (gas and boundary) will not overlap, and I can not clip the gas data.

So how to solve this problem?

好了，起因就是我把两个本来是unknown坐标系的数据直接project还是define projection到了North America Albers Equal Area Conic这个坐标系，结果虽然查看属性坐标系是改过来了，但是TOC里面查看属性－－Source－－Extent是错的，非常小只有几百米，而不是正确的几百万米。

仔细捋了一捋，原来应该先把坐标系unknown的数据先define projection到GCS_North_American_1983这个Geographic Coordinate System里面，然后再project到North America Albers Equal Area Conic这个Projected Coordinate System里面，这样extent才能正常。。。。。否则ArcMap就把度（经纬）直接转化成了米，发生了extent的错误
