Symptom
- RFC_CVI_EI_INBOUND_MAIN will not be supported from the release SAP S/4HANA On Premise 1709 FPS2 and onwards.
- RFC_CVI_EI_INBOUND_MAIN will not be supported from the release SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition 1805 and onwards.

Cause
RFC_CVI_EI_INBOUND_MAIN is not the recommended approach to update/create BP because as it is not an officially released SAP Function Module. It was created initially to be used only for internal purposes and will not be supported from the release SAP S/4HANA On Premise 1709 FPS2 and in Cloud Edition 1805 onwards.. See 109533, 1909989, 2527926 and 2506041.
Resolution
The recommended alternative is to:
- Create/update Business Partners is to use one of the officially supported approaches recommended by SAP according to SAP note 2417298 - 'Creation of Business Partner with Customer and Supplier Roles'
or - Write a custom RFC wrapper around function module CVI_EI_INBOUND_MAIN
