With easy-to-install/use of Hudson/git, I have setup the Hudson/Git in my home PC and this morning (wind is strong and can’t go out for playing basketball). I tried a few Hudson plug-ins which are pretty cool & exciting!
Hudson GIT plugin , it just implements the functions of Hudson SCM plugin like
* fetching specific refs from remote repo, previously I am just mis-leaded by a internal slide about Hudson. say “Hudson has git plugin but not suitable for Android projects”. so I haven’t think about using gitplugin somewhere till I start to study “how to update change log” which is critical for SCM process
* log the change sets (b/w commit of last build and commit of current build). In fact this confuses me for a pretty long time since I can see the page link of “change log” on Hudson job page. but, before, I just dont know how “change log” can be updated/shown. Now it’s clear. Only SCM plugin like git-plugin/svn-plugin installed & configured in job. this can work then
* show the commit hash code used in this build
* not sure if any more functions are still under wear
Hudson disk-usage plugin , a plugin for hudson admin
Version Number Plug-In , great plugin for enterprise users. Usually enterprise users have their own label/tag naming convention. Such as ECLAIR_20100508 or more complex ECLAIR_2.1.xxxx (decimal number). This plugin is just for such cases. really really appreciate the concept of plugin and works from open source community
Change Log History , it’s useful for engineering team to keep history logs in cases some build might be deleted due to reasons
Hudson JIRA plugin , function is not complex but pretty useful.
* identify Hudson ID in Hudson "change log” and make it a hyperlink
* with write permission to JIRA (user/password) required. can even update build number to JIRA comments

* How to know the exact build number after a build is triggered remotely via wget/curl, one solution is record the build number somewhere (e.g. JIRA/Bugzilla) in build script of triggered hudson job. But any other ways?
* Once a build triggered a post-project. How to know the build number of triggered build of post-project
