problem

➜  ~ virsh 'net-list'
error: failed to connect to the hypervisor
error: Failed to connect socket to '/var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock': No such file or directory

Just ran into the same issue on Debian: sudo apt-get install libvirt-daemon-system helped me solve it.

command

virsh net-list
virsh net-undefine default
virsh net-destroy default
service libvirtd restart
/etc/init.d/libvirt restart
