1. as, since, because，表示“因为”时

2. when, while, as，表示“当....时”

4. 论文中使用“etc.”或“including”时，说明所列举的项目列表是不完整的。

1. as, since, because，表示“因为”时

because 更加常用（口语），且侧重于强调原因；
as 更加正式，且侧重于强调结果！
since 用于表示原因要慎重，since更多的表示“自从...”。（Since 在朗文第一个解释：from a particular time or event in the past untill the present, or in that period of time；朗文第二个解释：used to give the reason for something）

2. when, while, as，表示“当....时”

while强调时间上的关系，不表示任何因果关系
when强调时间上的关系时和while没有区别，但when同时可以表示时间上的因果关系
as可以（prefer）表示因果关系，也可以表示时间上两者同时发生。(As 在朗文第一个解释：in the way that some say or that something happens, or in the condition something is in, 因此在表示条件，当...时，应该用as)

3. The former and The latter 作指示代词时，谓语单复数

谓语动词的单复数取决于它所指代的名词的单复数。该规则可以推广！不限于the latter and the former.

4. 论文中使用“etc.”或“including”时，说明所列举的项目列表是不完整的。

5. 连词的使用

On the contrary 相反 // by contrast 相比之下 // compare with 与...相比
Moreover; additionally, in addition; again, also, besides, either, further, furthermore, likewise, more, then, too, withal, yet

6. 副词的位置

副词在动词前和句子后，中文下感觉差不多，但是英文感觉是不一样的，注意理解其中细微的差异。

7 连接词

1. 表示“先后次序关系”

At this time: 在那时, 在那段时间
I'm afraid we have no vacancies at this time. 这个时间恐怕没有空房间了。
At this time yesterday. 昨天这个时候。
First of all 首先
To begin/start with 首先,作为开始,起初
Since then 其后,从此一直
Following this 其次,接着
At last: in the end; after much delay 最后，终于

2. 表示“因果关系”

3. 表示“转折关系”

8 连接词汇总扩展

（1）表层次

first,firstly, to begin with, further, in the first place

（2）表转折；adv. 虽然, 尽管，然而/可是

although虽然/ 尽管/然而/可是，though虽然/尽管/然而不过，yet，at the same time 尽管如此/同时，but， even so 虽然如此； nevertheless 尽管如此/不过/ 仍然conj. 然而, 不过，even though for all that，notwithstanding，

（4）表让步：

（5）表递近：

（6）表举例：

英语写作之连词的使用

1. as, since, because，三者均表示“因为”时，区别如下：because 更加常用（口语），且侧重于强调原因； as 和since更加正式，且侧重于强调结果！SOURCE2. when, while, as，表示“当....时”，却别如下：while强调时间上的关系，不表示任何因果关系 when强调时间上的关系时和while没有区别，但when同时可以表示时间上的因果关系 as可以（prefer）表示因果关系，也可以表示时间上两者同时发生SOURCE1, SOUR.
