java8 ie_Internet Explorer 8 - Java Download Timeout

I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit and use both Internet Explorer 32- and 64-bit.  I also run Office 2010.

I've tried to download an update for my Java Runtime Environment client but the download times out.  Specifically, while trying to download the file, the IE status bar says "Waiting for http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=48358...".

The URL I'm using is http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp.  I've verified that JavaScript is enabled and have added sun.com to my list of Trusted Sites.

If I attempt to update Java via the Java control panel, the update runs successfully.  Also, I'm able to download the update via Firefox.  This same behavior is present on several machines I've tested in my organization.

Do you know what may be causing this?
