摘要:
Summary This chapter explains the actions that the nurses and healthcare assistants working in care homes should take under the following conditions: (i) when they are contacted by the press; (ii) when the GP refuses to visit; (iii) when a resident absconds; (iv) when a regulatory inspector or other authorities such as the police call unannounced; and (v) when the assistant is confronted by a difficult or dysfunctional family. It also explains how the assistant should react when he is asked to witness a resident's signature on a legal document, to provide a resident's records to a third party, and to manage unreasonable complainants.
