Thank you for your reply, however I am still not able to understand what, where and how I am supposed to set these enviroment variables. Linux is not my forte.
I felt my ODBC.ini file was becoming too changed with regard to the answers I was receiving, so I have retunred it to its original state and then added the changes as shown below
