Build Error 6041: Internal build error

Symptoms

Building an InstallShield project, produces the following error occurs:

Error -6041: Internal build error.

Cause

The Build error is known to occur when trying to build a Multi-Lingual installer. The Build error -6041 occurs when there is an error encountered applying a language transform to a language specific MSI that is generated as part of the build process.

Resolution  

To resolve the error, follow the steps below:

1.            Browse to the 'Releases' view in the Project.

2.            Select the Release that you are working on.

3.            Go to the 'Build' tab.

4.            Change the 'Keep Unused Directories' value to Yes.

5.            Rebuild the Release and test it.
