This article discusses the dual experience of drawing and handwriting ("drawriting") in Czesaw Miosz's manuscripts. Those manuscripts expose a unique whimsicality of poet's handwriting and doodling, providing some insights into Miosz's creative process. Two types of inscription reveal two different sides of creation: one tending to discipline and chisel the words, the other spontaneous, improvising, seemingly whimsical, yet suggestive of an obsessive insistence on forging a fledgling poem.
