摘要:
Gross primary production and nitrogen uptake are two of the most important indicators of ecosystem function. The natural abundance of carbon and nitrogen stable isotopes (δ~(15)N and δ~(13)C) may be used as both natural integrators and tracers of ecological processes (Dawson et al. 2002). Isotope δ~(15)N can provide clues about the processes implied in the N cycle (Robinson 2001). Isotope δ~(13)C is considered an indicator of leaf intrinsic water-use efficiency (CO_2 assimilation rate/leaf conductance for water vapour, Farquhar et al. 1989).
