XenServer Conversion Tools

Release Date: Sep 28, 2012

Citrix XenServer Conversion Manager and Citrix XenConvert are tools for converting a workload to XenServer from other virtualization platforms and physical machines. A workload is a configuration of operating system(s), application(s), and data. A conversion involves copying the contents of the workload and configuring its operating systems for XenServer.

Use Citrix XenServer Conversion Manager to convert up to hundreds of virtual machines from VMware vSphere to XenServer. It saves time and storage by converting a virtual machine directly to XenServer unattended. A standalone, light weight console allows an administrator to create, monitor, and manage conversion jobs.

Use Citrix XenConvert to convert from a single server or desktop physical machine running Windows to XenServer, a virtual appliance in the Open Virtualization Format, or a virtual disk in the Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) format. It works with Citrix XenCenter by producing a virtual appliance and virtual disk that XenCenter can import.
