Outlook Express could not be started

用户收到一份附件是.eml格式的文件，查了下是可用outlook express打开的，可是但我尝试用OE打开时，却提示：

Outlook Express could not be started. The application was unable to open the Outlook Express message store Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full. Contact Microsoft support for further assistance. (0x8007007E, 126)

 

当然解决方法是重装OE了，当然过程也简单。

Outlook Express could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be initialized. Outlook Express may not be installed correctly.

Here is a solution for a system configured with XP Pro SP3 and IE 8 Beta:

 

1. Start->Run->%systemroot%\inf.
2. Locate msoe50.inf.
3. Right-click on msoe50.inf and choose Install.
4. A dialog will open looking for setup50.exe. In another window, search your computer for the file. Record the path and submit it to the dialog. The path is likely the location of file stored following the installation of XP SP2.
5. Dialogs will open searching for msoe.chm and msoe.hlp. A version of msoe.chm is probably resident in the same directory as setup50.exe. A copy of msoe.hlp is probably elsewhere on your computer. Again, copy the paths and submit them to the respective dialogs.
6. Launch OE.
7. OE might have created a new identity. It will open a wizard to import an account. Import your account details, if possible.
8. Browse to Tools->Options->Maintenance. Change the storage folder to your old message store. Relaunch OE.
