Installation and Use of STATSPACKThis procedure is for a Windows 2000 install; however, installations on UNIX or other platforms should be nearly identical.

Create the STATSPACK tablespace (note, you cannot use the SYSTEM tablespace for STATSPACK results).

Run the spcreate.sql script for Oracle9i; it is located in the $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin directory. (Note: This was called statscre.sql in previous releases.) In Oracle9i, it also automatically runs dbmspool.sql and dbmsjob.sql as a part of the spcusr.sql script. If you have already installed dbmspool.sql (dbms_shared_pool) and dbmsjob.sql (dbms_job), then you may wish to comment-out the calls to these packages in the spcusr.sql script. All STATSPACK scripts are located in the same directory as the spcreate.sql script, so you may wish to move them to a STATSPACK or reporting-specific directory. I have removed all of the creating-this and creating-that messages for the sake of brevity; however, you should know this script creates numerous views, tables, and packages.

and indexes. This will also be the PERFSTAT user's default tablespace.
