The article presents information on several initiatives by the Association of American Colleges & Universities (AAC&U) to promote integrative liberal learning. Signature Work prepares students to integrate and apply their learning to a project. General Education Maps and Markers (GEMs) project is designed to improve the quality of undergraduate education. The Scientific Thinking and Integrative Reasoning Skills (STIRS) project promotes evidence-based thinking.
