Job-hunting

Situation

:

As is illustrated in the pictures, thousands of students in Henan and Zhejiang Province

went to two job fairs to find jobs. Job hunting has been a headache for college graduates.

Each

year

thousands

of

graduates

flood

into

the

job

market,

waving

their

college

diplomas and certificates, expecting good jobs related to their majors, only to be frustrated

and disappointed. Even many graduates from prestigious universities fail to find suitable

jobs. Why do college graduates find it difficult to get a rewarding job?

The

number

of

college

graduates

has

experienced

a

dramatic

increase

these

years,

which

gives

rise

to

the

difficulties

in

job-hunting.

Since

the

number

of

graduates

is

enormous in proportion to that of positions, it is definitely true that students may have a

hard time hunting their jobs.

Reasons

:

In

my

opinion,

this

kind

of

job-hunting

pressure

is

mainly

caused

by

reasons

as

follows.

Firstly, colleges and universities are enrolling more and more students

year by year.

And the growth of the students' number has surpassed that of the need of the society.

Secondly, some university students

are not

qualified for

good

and challenging jobs.

After

entering

the

university,

they

don't

study

as

hard

as

they

did

in

high

schools.

They

begin to sleep during the class or even be absent for classes. After four years of university

life, they haven't gained the adequate knowledge those fairly good jobs or certain positions

require.

A lot of college graduates have little practical experience. They spend most of their

time

at

school

studying

academic

subjects

and

lack

relevant

job

training.

Obviously,

the

pattern of attaching importance to theories has weakened their ability to practice.

A student has a good method to achieve high scores, it

don’t equal that the students

can apply the theories to practical problems yet.

The

bad

quality

of

our

education

causes

that

college

students

don't

have

enough

competition

ability

in

the

society.

Today,

our

higher

education

usually

pays

too

much

attention to the theory and basic knowledge and don't pay enough attention to the practical

technique ability. We often can find a student who doesn't have a practical ability after 4

years studying in the college or university. Certainly it is difficult for such a student to find

a job.
