esxi修改服务器配置失败,ESXi4.1安装失败一例

昨天在一台DELL台式机上安装esxi4.1失败(DELL 780/ E7500 Processor /4G RAM)，错误提示无法找到安装镜像。试过CD和USB安装，统统都失败了，所以估计应该是硬件兼容性的问题。

错误提示：

installation operation failed!

The installation operation has encountered a fatal error:

Unable to find system p_w_picpath to install. This is due to the p_w_picpath not being mounted correctly or the CD-ROM not being supported.

解决办法：

先安装esxi4.0，再通过升级至4.1

1) 通过vSphere Client选择Enter Maintenance Mode

2) 通过vSphere CLI升级，命令为 vihostupdate.pl –server –install –bundle

3) 重启esxi服务器

4)下载安装vSphere Client 4.1
