Abstruct: By applying Kress & Leeuwen’s multi-model analysis approach in the poster of A Farewell to My concubine，this paper unscrambles representative meaning， interactive meaning and compositional meaning from the linguisticperspective， and provides a better understanding of how movies rachieve the construction through images， characters，colors and layout， thus can carry the point of conveying information and drawing spectator’s attraction.
