- Always think of the audiences:
- how important it is for them? (Try to talk more about the relationship between our fields)
- method: if they are in the same field with me, talk more about the method, and the advantages/applicability/feasibility for my and their research; if not, quickly pass through!
- (only COMMITTEE MEETING) avoid repetitive talking about the same importance every year
- Be aware of bad habit of speaking
- Always add a clear title
- Only use previous figures that’s useful to this study, instead of using everything that I spent time to read.
Usefulness here means:
- for comparison, mine is better
- it’s the basement of my research
- to clarify some concepts
- or this is a review talk
- …
- Distinguish the work that has been done by predecessors and me.
