Focusing on Developing Radar Technology to Solve Social Problems

Seeing this topic for the first time, I believe that many people, like me, feel that radar technology and social problems are irrelevant and far-fetched. But after a simple understanding, to a certain extent, radar technology can promote the level of military industry and even social sciences, as well as international influence. Next, I will talk about my simple views.

The Origin of Radar

Let’s start with radar. Radar, meaning “radio detection and ranging”, is the use of radio methods to find targets and determine their spatial location. The first radar emerged as a result of the war between Germany and Britain during World War I, and Britain needed a radar (technology) capable of detecting metallic objects in the air to help search German aircraft in anti-air raid warfare. Later, with the scientific progress in microelectronics and other fields, and the continuous development of radar technology, its connotation and research content are constantly expanding. Radar detection methods have been developed from only radar detectors to infrared, ultraviolet, laser and other optical detection methods.

Development of Radar in China

Over the years, China has also attached great importance to the development of radar. Radar can detect and locate targets all-weather, all-time and long-distance. It is an important sensor in military and many civil fields. With the development of high and new technology, various high-performance weapons and equipment such as high-altitude high-speed aircraft and missiles, ultra-low altitude cruise missiles (such as “Tomahawk” cruise missiles), high-speed anti-radiation missiles (such as AGM-88), stealth aircraft (such as F-22, F-35) are coming into being, which require more and more radar functions. The war environment is also worse. With the development of ballistic missile penetration capability, tactical missile, cruise missile, unmanned aerial vehicle, spacecraft and so on, the emergence of various electronic jammers, stealth weapons and stealth fighters makes radar face severe challenges. For this reason, our country actively explores modern radar, searches for new theories and processing methods, and constantly breaks through.

Today, compared with the military powers, the overall technical level of radar in our country has approached or reached the advanced level of foreign countries in an all-round way. As a whole, our radar is in a state of running side by side. It is in the critical period of leaping from “following” to “leading” and has achieved “leading” in some fields. Of course, there are still some shortcomings: the basic theory research is insufficient, the radar research in our country started late, and has been in the state of following the trend for a long time; the degree of precision is insufficient; the degree of civil-military integration is insufficient, and so on. To solve these problems, we believe that China’s radar technology will go a step further.

Summary

Talking about this, we need to talk about the inextricable relationship between radar technology and social problems. Today, in the international environment, China wants to force the real economy manufacturing industry which had been transferred from China to relocate to the United States through trade barriers to fight a trade war. Globalization has entered a difficult period that has never been encountered before; Europe is deeply involved in its own debt refugee problem; Japan has implemented Abe Economics in recent years. Not much improvement; China’s economic growth slowed down. In particular, the continuing conflict in the Middle East has added several factors of instability. It can be seen that the current international situation is extremely complex and chaotic, and no one can really see clearly and thoroughly, pointing out how everything will develop next. Although China has become stronger and stronger since the reform and opening up, if we want to stand steadily on the top of the world, military is fundamental and a bottom card. Military collapse, international influence and national interests are empty talk. The development of radar technology will undoubtedly play a great role in promoting military industrial technology, enhancing military strength, and promoting the current situation of the surrounding countries, or a deterrent role, which will play a positive role in solving the problem of social external stability.
