T challenge of 5G communication test technology

Abstract：The 5th generation mobile communication is mainly discussed in my report. We will undoubtedly face a variety of challenges in 21st century. For instance, the high date rate, the low delay, the large number of wireless transmission connections, the traffic density and the high mobility which are brought by the new technology. There are several ways to test, including 5G wireless channel simulation and evaluation technology, Massive MIMO system testing and so on.

【摘要】：本文首先介绍了第五代移动通信（5G）技术的应用背景及在21新世纪面对新技术带来的挑战，主要包括数据传输高速率、低延时、无线传输的连接数、流量密集和高移动性等方面。基于这些挑战，本文从多种方式测试的方向具体介绍了第五代移动通信测试技术体系结构，主要包括5G无线信道模拟与评估技术、Massive MIMO系统的测试等。

一、Introduction
5G is short for the 5th generation communication as well as the prolongation of the 4th generation communication. China, Korea, Japan, Europe have already taken measures to develop the 5G communication. Its propagation velocity is incredibly fast, the peak value could reach dozens of GB per second, much faster than the 4th generation communication. At the age of 5G, we can download a high-quality movie during one second. With the rapid development of the 4G, 5G has already become the research hotspot all over the world. Although we are still predominantly using the 4G recently, 5G will probably be used in the official business in the year of 2020. We are willing that in the age of 5G, everything is interconnected.
二、The testing challenge brought by the 5G
5G has higher requirements for the technical function, compared with 3G and 4G. We are supposed to make many changes as well as develop new technology to meet the requirements of 5G. In order to test whether the changes as well as the technology match the 5G’s requirements, the corresponding testing system is of great importance.
三、5G testing system
3.1、5G wireless channel simulation
It is obvious that every technology will increase the difficulty of transmitter and receiver. However, one of the most important things is to establish the air wireless channel. We need to establish a math modal and make a definition for the 5G new gap due to the reason that we are supposed to make an overall planning. In addition, the goal of channel testing is to divide the wireless channel into several paths. The signals are affected by the channel in the air and reach the receiver. A testing system should be able to test the specific frequency period by the signal processing. Meanwhile, pick the characteristics of the wireless channel. The math modal is as followed:

3.2、Massive MIMO testing system
The massive MIMO is generally regarded as one of the most important technology in the 5G, which has also received great attention. The aim of this MIMO testing system is to improve the volume, the energy efficiency and the spectrum effectiveness. It also faces great challenges. In the 5G high wave section, we are required to use Antenna array transmission to provide directional beamforming to offset harsh transmission environment in the high frequency. In the present frequency(2.6GHz、3.5GHz) and the technology we are using right now(LTE), the antenna array needs to be improved to have the function of 3-D Beam Shaping. It is required to dip angle both in horizontal direction as well as in the vertical direction in order to better coverage of high-rise buildings. Refer to the technology of

4G LTE, many test specifications such as LTE TS36.141 have defined all the restrictions of the testing process. However, till now 5G does not have the transparent test specification. Consequently, for the massive MIMO system, we need to do more further research.
四、Conclusion
In conclusion, my article in general introduce the challenges we face in the area of 5G wireless channel simulation as well as the massive MIMO testing system from the perspective of testing technology. As 5G becomes the hotspot all over the world, it catches the attention of many countries. We also believe that these challenges will be solved in the near future with the effort of all of us.
