Data Driven solutions from meta data exploration

Motivation

The reason I write this little essay is because I want to do some follow-ups based the intro to data science modules I took this semester. I think the purpose of this module is to teach us how to use data science tool to solve a real problem. The dataset used in this project should be thoroughly analyzed in order to provide some feasible strategies for the decision makers to make the right decision.

Alternative energy supply system: Distributed Energy System and Solar PV solutions

Based on the visualization of the dataset, we can see that the previous energy supply system have some problems.

1. There are obvious different energy consumption patterns at day and night times, so solar PV can be used as ideal energy supply system to provide a reliable and sufficient energy supply solution at different times of the days.
2. The difference between the highest and lowest energy consumption indeed exist, and if we use distributed energy system to supply those buildings, it will save some unnecessary waste of the energy consumption.

Better energy supply system design

Based on our visualization results, the energy consumption change and fluctuate a lot based on time, so it is necessary to design different energy supply system to support the energy consumption at different times or locations. A more flexible energy supply system can provide better support for the whole energy consumption system.

Conclusion

Wish this can be my start for the exploration of the data driven solutions in the future.
