Introduction to GNU Libtool

GNU libtool is a generic（一般的，通用的） library support script. Libtool hides the complexity（复杂性） of using shared libraries（共享库） behind a consistent（一致性）, portable（可移植性） interface.

In the past, if you were a source code package developer（源代码包的开发者） and wanted to take advantage of the power of shared libraries（共享库的强大优点）, you needed to write custom support code（编写自定义支持脚本） for each platform on which your package ran（你开发的包所运行的每一个平台）. You also had to design a configuration interface（配置接口） so that the package installer（包安装器） could choose what sort of libraries were built.

GNU Libtool simplifies your job by encapsulating both the platform-specific dependencies（封装、包裹平台相关的依赖）, and the user interface（用户接口）, in a single script（在一个单独的脚本文件中）. GNU Libtool is designed so that the complete functionality of each host type is available via a generic interface（通用的接口）, but nasty quirks（惨不忍睹的怪癖的任务） are hidden from the programmer.

GNU Libtool's consistent interface（一致性接口） is reassuring（让人大可放心的）... users don't need to read obscure documentation（晦涩的文档） in order to have their favorite source package build shared libraries. They just run your packageconfigure script (or equivalent), and libtool does all the dirty work. 

分析：

1 通过上面我们应该看出，GUN Libtool是一个xxx工具，它是给开发源码包的人使用的（也许我们用户也许要安装这个工具，才能超级方便的使用这个工具整出的包），它能够简化开发人员的很多工作。

2 大致浏览GNU Libtool官网后，至少我们可以看到这几个单词：Downloading GNU Libtool，因此，我们可以知道：官网上一定会提供给我们下载的地方，如果下载速度慢，我们打开在别的网站上下载它，至少它是可下载的。

3 在官网上，我们同样可以看到这句话：Daily snapshots（每日快照） of the repository are available via http fromhttp://pogma.com/libtool/. ，也许这可以说明：GNU Libtool每天都会更新一下。

4 在官网上，我们同样可以看到这句话：The latest stable version ishttp://ftpmirror.gnu.org/libtool/libtool-2.4.2.tar.gz.，这说明很多软件包都可能会想它一样，给用户提供一个：最近的稳定版本。

5 每一发布的工具，一般都有其 manual（用户参考手册）。

6 linux下很多工具都是提供源代码的（源码安装嘛），因此很多软件都可以找到源代码，偶尔看看大神写的，没准会收获很多的。
