ERROR:
Versions 11.2 and above
DESCRIPTION:
This error occurs when ktspfmdb() calls kcbnew() to format a range of blocks. The error is raised in kcbnew() if the data_object_id of the current buffer in cache is different to the object that we're trying to new the buffer for.
ARGUMENTS:
Arg [a] -- Number of block to new within range
Arg [b] -- Data_object_id that kcbnew() is expecting to see
Arg [c] -- Buffer flag
FUNCTIONALITY:
Kernel Cache Buffer Management Implementation
IMPACT:
PROCESS FAILURE
SUGGESTIONS:
The incident trace file dumps the buffer header that we find at the top of the trace. This will show the data_object_id that is found in the buffer.
We need to see the pinned buffer history for the block to diagnose further. To get enough information, it is usually necessary to set _db_block_cache_history=32 to increase the size of the history.
The fpin: entry in the buffer header will show where in the code the data block was brought into cache and this can help identifying known bugs or the area which is mishandling the buffer.
