Welcome to the Nginx English Wiki Nginx ("engine x") is a high-performance HTTP server and reverse proxy, as well as an IMAP/POP3/SMTP proxy server. Nginx was written by Igor Sysoev for Rambler.ru, Russia's second-most visited website, where it has been running in production for over two and a half years. Igor has released the source code under a BSD-like license. Although still in beta, Nginx is known for its stability, rich feature set, simple configuration, and low resource consumption. Because most of Nginx's documentation is in Russian, this wiki exists to help the English-speaking world install, configure, and swap tips about Nginx. Much of the documentation was derived from the work of Aleksandar Lazic <al-nginx AT none DOT at>. Please direct questions regarding the wiki itself to Cliff Wells <cliff AT develix DOT com>.
