1983  A multiresolution Spline with Application to Image Mosaics Peter J.Burt

This article states a methods of image composting, mainly based on multiresolution and spline anylisis. When we first get this problem, it's probably make use of spline anylisis to feather the bordering. However, different scales of conincidence in the bordering can be modeled with the same spline and change region. This paper solve this problem by dealing with spline changing in multiresolution which departs different frequences of information into different resolution.

1999 Texture Synthesis by Non-parametric Sampling

This article propose a method to texture synthesis by utilizing the MRF(markov random field model). This laid a strong foundation for image synthesis in future.

Poisson's equation is a partial differential equation of elliptic type, 2阶导数方程。

This paper model the image compositing problem as a Poisson's equation with constraints. Then solve it . We call it Gradient-domain methods.

This method is broadly accepted until now and produce good results.
