This passage mainly tells about the construction of a Web server with Windows IIS. It’s actually written according to my own experience.

1. Purchase a cloud server at aliyun.com

Maybe you can by a cloud server from other provider.
You should buy “云服务器ECS”.

And if you are a student, there is a discount.

2. Buy domain name from domain name service provider

There are many domain name service providers. Some are domestic, others are foreign. You’d better buy it from the same place as where you buy the cloud server. For example, I buy a cloud server from aliyun.com, then I buy a domain name from it.

3. Resolve the domain name to the server

4. Open some necessary port.

5. Install Windows Server OS

Also you can install Linux OS.
I just take this example to simplify the steps to prepare for a server.

6. Install IIS in the system

7. Set a catalog to be firstly visited by a client and then copy your project to this catalog

8. Set the first file to be visited by a client

9. Fulfill ICP filing procedures according to the law in China
