Kirk:
The plug in is pretty easy to install, there are a couple of things you have to do to get it to work.
First, download the MaxIm plug-in from FLI, double click on the file so it will extract, this file is named CCDPlugFingerLakes.dll the newest release is dated 10-11-2010
Keep this extracted file open on your desktop. Next, go to this Program files/DiffractionLimited/MaxImDLv5 your files may be listed differently but once in the MaxIm DL v5 folder, you will see all the .dll files, plug in, etc.
Look for the file in the MaxIm DL v5 folder named CCDPlugFLI.dll this is where the problem is, you have to "rename" this file. Right click on the CCDPlugFLI.dll file and choose "rename" I renamed my file CCDPlugFLIOld.dll
After you have done that, go back to the extracted window you left open. Right click on this file named CCDPlugFingerLakes.dll choose "copy" go back into the MaxIm v5 folder and "paste" this into the folder where the other .dll plug in files are at.
Once you have done that, you can double click on MaxIm, go to setup and choose camera. You will notice the option for the FLI camera is now Finger Lakes New your camera and filter will now work correctly when you choose this Finger Lakes New camera and filter driver.
If you just download the plug in, extract it, etc. it will not automatically be put into the correct file Kirk, you have to copy and paste it into the folder listed above and rename the old plug in file first.
Mine works great, yours will do once the new plug in is in the proper spot and the old plug in is renamed. MaxIm will keep loading the older plug in and that's the problem you are having.
Hope that helps Kirk, enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Subject: [FLI_Imaging_Systems] Can't Connect FLI camera/Filter wheel to Maxim DL
I just downloaded Maxim 5.12 trial version. I am running windows XP. I currently use Sky6 Pro, CCDSoft and CCDAutopilot to control my Paramount ME, FLI Proline 9000 and SBIG ST402 guide camera. I am considering buying Maxim because it is the only software that can control the RBI feature on my FLI camera. I downloaded the FLI camera plug-in named "CCDPlugFingerLakes.dll" from the FLI site. I tried to add the plug-in and it won't load. I select add/remove plug-in, manually add plug in, then browse and select the FLI plug in. When I open the plug in, Maxim tells me "The selected file does not contain a valid plug in object". I tried to load some of the other plug ins and none of them will load either.
In the camera set up, I selected SBIG universal, then ST402 and I can take an image with the SBIG 402 and adjust the cooler. I have to make camera one the simulator for it to work. If I set camera 1 to FLI New, the connection fails and neither camera connects.
