1. The status of a superordinate service is calculated from
a. The status of the message directly assosicated with the superordinate
b. the status propagated from its subordinates.
2. Rule Type: simple and Serverity based rule
3. Simple Rule:
a. Unchanged: Wanring equals Warning
b. Ignore: the status of the subservice is not considered when calculating the status of the dependent service.
c. Propagate Fixed as:
If the status propagation set to fixed warning, a subservice with a status of minor is interpreted as warning.
Exception: Normal is always propagated as normal.
d. Propagate Relative: To propagate the status at a fixed leverl higher or lower than what the status really is.
For example, "Increase BY 2", then a warning message will cause to propagate a status of major.
4. Severity Based Rule:
The propagation rule will be changed according to the status of the subservice.
5. Status Calculation Serverity
The Status engine will consider the following parameters of subservice severity and calculate the seveity of superservice
a. Subservice severity ratings
b. Threshold, single/Mutiple threshold or most critical
c. Weighting
