Shared folder [host win7 & guest Ubuntu ]

Solution 1: VMware tools

1. Set up in host win7, VM / settings/ options/ shared folder

2. Install VMware tools. Follow the link.

/mnt/hgfs/ is there but still could NOT get the folder shared!

 

Solution 2: Network shared folder

1. In guest, set the folders shared, while one could get an error.
Failed to execute child process "testparm" (No such file or directory)

or Go to Synaptic, seach samba-common-bin, 'Mark for Upgrade' and hit apply.

 

2. In host, type the guest machine's ip in the address bar to see the shared folder.
