Individual OR Group Assignment #2 (Amazon option)

Context for the Assignment: You are the Special Advisor on policy Issues to the CIO of Amazon.  Upon a final review of the latest iteration of Amazon (Appstore) cybersecurity policy, you discover a number of areas within some of the prescribed policy that you know to be either inaccurate or just untrue. Your immediate duty, prior to publication for broad dissemination, public consumption, and use is to conduct a revision.

Assignment: Conduct a revision of policy from a section (Privacy and Security Policy (online)) within the Amazon cybersecurity policy using what you know to be a cybersecurity best practice.

Deliverable Methodology and Format: The following writing model will act as a guideline for completing the assignment:

1. Cite the section being revised; one paragraph suggested.
2. Explain or justify why the chosen section had to be revised; in other words, what was the shortcoming in the cybersecurity policy you recognized? (*Note: a false excuse will suffice, if a true reason is unavailable); one paragraph suggested.
3. Revise or create the section using your best practice as a foundation for the revision; one paragraph suggested.
4. Provide specific insights about your best practice as support for the “new” section; this input may be in bulleted form or another paragraph if desired; one paragraph suggested.

Constraints: The following constitutes “rules” that will be followed in the completion of the assignment under threat of penalty (to the final grade); ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS. : 

1. Individuals and groups will use only those best practices found during the completion of Assignment #1. No more research is necessary!  
2. No graphics.
3. No citations.
4. The final document will take no more than 2 ½ pages.
5. The document will be written using an 11-sized font, single-spaced.  
6. Spelling, grammar, syntax, flow, argumentation and relevance will be used as criteria for grading. (*Note: This is policy that will be used in courts of law and to make multi-billion dollar decisions by the management of enterprises throughout the world. There will always be people and entities who misinterpret or consciously interpret regulations and guidance in alignment with their best interests. However, statements within any guidance should not appear to conflict in actions to be taken, thus affecting the quickness and confidence in implementing that guidance.)
7. Students may choose any part of the Amazon cybersecurity policy to revise.

Suggestion: As stated above, use the best practice you already researched for Individual Assignment #1. This particular assignment is NOT meant to make you do unnecessary work. It is meant to demonstrate you can take what you have already learned and apply it to draft the most basic cybersecurity policy from refined inputs. Further, scan some of the pages within the Amazon online document and learn how the language is meant to influence broad audiences to adopt comprehensive ideas. Use this language in your revision so that your additions are indistinguishable from the pre-existing policy.
