Business Analytics
Dynatrace Business Analytics connects application performance and user experience to metrics known as business events.
The business event dataflow in Dynatrace has three stages:
In the first stage, raw business event data is captured and ingested from OneAgent, the RUM JavaScript API, and other external sources.
Next, business event information enters the data processing pipeline, where the data can be filtered, parsed, enriched, transformed, or assigned a retention period by creating rules, which are then processed in sequence.
We then store these events in Grail, our powerful data lakehouses, so they can be accessed by Davis Al and Smartscape.
Data stored in Grail can be explored using the Dynatrace Query Language, or DQL, to discover patterns, identify anomalies and outliers, report on trends, and more.
DQL queries are also used to build dashboards, charts, metrics, and reports, and DQL can be used to export selected data to external tools.
Business events can represent any business data of interest to your organization.
Once ingested, use Dynatrace Business Analytics to visualize, analyze and explore your data through out-of-the-box and custom apps, including dashboards, notebooks, and purpose-built business applications.
By enabling business events, you can define and extract critical business data from your IT systems with lossless precision, and create custom Dashboards and Notebooks that laserfocus on your KPIs.
Use Business Flow to monitor and analyze critical business process flows by tracking end-toend process delays, detecting anomalies, and reporting on business KPIs.
Dynatrace Carbon Impact tracks and reports your IT carbon footprint, allowing you to calculate and monitor your cloud and on-premises infrastructure electricity consumption.
To get started, explore the Business Events page for a central repository of resources related to business events, including blog posts, documentation, direct product links and other relevant applications.
