Output is a significant stage in English or any other language leanring, so, the main part of notes in this column are written in English by me.
输出是英语或者其他任何语言学习中的一个重要环节,因此,这个专栏中的笔记的主要内容我都是用英语写的。
1. Recognize Preposition | 识别介词
Some common prepositions have multiple part-of-speech (a.k.a. word class).
一些常见的介词通常拥有多个词性,因此我们首先要识别其究竟是哪一种词性。
For examples:
- The puma is up a tree. (Preposition 介词)
- He looked up. (Adverb 副词)
- Price are up. (Adjective 形容词)
- It depends on what they do. (Preposition 介词)
- The car stopped and then drove on. (Adverb 副词)
- The TV is on. (Adjective 形容词)
请读者认识这些常见的词性单词,后续不会再标注其中文意思。
verb 动词、preposition 介词、adverb 副词、adjective 形容词、noun 名词、conjunction 连词
So, what we can summary is that prepositions should be used before nominal elements to combine to prepositional phrase. And the preposition cannot be used separately.
因此,我们可以从上面的例子中总结出:介词总是用在名词性成分之前,来组成介词短语。并且介词不能单独使用。
2. Prepositional Phrase of Adjective Element | 形容词性介词短语
This type of prepositional phrase is a common adjective element that modifies nominal elements.
这种类型的介词短语通常是一个用于修饰名词成分的形容词性成分。
For examples:
- The book on the shelf is great. (Modify "the book")
- I hate the hot summers in Changsha. (Modify "the hot summers")
3. Prepositional Phrase of Adverbial Element | 副词性介词短语
Modify verbs, adjective elements and other adverbial elements.
用于修饰动词、形容词性成分和其他副词性成分。
For examples:
- I am ready for dinner. (Modify the adjective "ready")
- Sally is happy with her new teacher. (Modify the adjective "happy")
- We got there late in the evening. (Adverb "late" modifies the verb "got", and the prepositional phrase "in the evening" modifies the adverb "late", IMPRESSION: "in the evening" do not modify the verb "got")
- Our team scored early in the first quarter. (Similar to above)
4. Strange Prepositions | “奇怪”的介词
Except simple prepositions like "as", "at", "by", "during", "with"…, there are some strange prepositions.
除了例如 “as”、“at”、“by”、“during”、“with”…… 等简单的介词,还有一些介词显得非常 “奇怪”。
Participle prepositions 分词介词: considering, including, given, granted…
Phrase prepositions 介词短语 (the combination of the all two or more words is one single prepositional element): ahead of, next to, because of, owing to, along with, as well as, in case of, in charge of, in common with, as a result of, in the absence of, to the best of, with an eye to…
它们也许无法让你第一时间分辨出来是介词,因此一定要努力地去记忆并认识它们哦!
