How to Change Timezone in your Linux System

How to Change Timezone in your Linux System

For the system Fedora, RHEL, Cent OS, SuSe Linux, it is the same method to change timezone. There is other methods to do this, but I just tell you one method I recommend.

At first, go to /etc directory and you can see the localtime in your system.

Second, delete the localtime file.

rm localtime
Note: Before delete this file, use date command to check your timezone first.

Third, go to /usr/share/zoneinfo/ directory, then you can see a lot of timezones. Pick the timezone you want to change.

Fourth, go to /etc directory again and create a symlink to file localtime.

ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/Eurpo/Berlin localtime

At last, use date command to check your timezone again, it has been changed to Berlin time.
