Be sentenced to prison

• Mr.Dufresu,describe the confrontation(冲突) you had with your life the night that she was murdered.

• I went to a few bar, later I drove to his house to confront(与他们对质) them, They weren’t homes,So I parked in the turnout and waited.

• With what intention？（带着什么意图）

• I’m not sure.I’m confused.I think mostly I want scare them.

• when they arrived. you went up to the house and murdered them.

• No.I was sobering up.I got back in the car and drove home to sleep it off. Along way,I stopped and threw my gun into the river.I feel I’ve been very clear on this point.

• Where I get hazy(疑惑) is where the cleaning woman（清洁员） shows up the following morning and finds your wife in bed with her lover ,riddled with（被打了） 38-caliber bullets（38口径子弹）, Does that strike you as a fantastic coincidence,Mr.Dufresu or is it just me?

• You still maintain that you threw the gun into the river before the murder took place,that’s very convenient.

• It’s the turth.

• The police dragged the river for 3 days.and nary a gun was found. so that could be no comparison made between your gun and bullets taken from the bloodstained corpse

• Since I’m innocent of this crime.I find it decidely inconvenient that the gun was never found.

• Ladies and Gentlemen you’ve heard all the envidence. you know all the facts.We have tyre tracks,We have bullets strewn on the ground which bear his fingerprints.

• Most of all. we have a beautiful woman and her lover lying dead in each other’s arms.They had sinned(他们有罪). but was their crime so great to merit a death sentence.（值得死刑）

• While you think about this,a revolver holds six bullets, I submit that this was not a hot-blood crime of passion（冲动犯罪）.That at least could be understood.if not condoned(宽恕).

• This was revenge of much more brutal ,cold-blood nature consider this 4 bullets per victim.not six shots fired, that means he fired the gun empty and then stopped to reload so that he could shoot each other again.

• You strike me as a particularly icy（冷漠） and remorseless（无情） man, Mr. Dufresne. It chills（不寒而栗） my blood just to look at you. By the power vested in me（赋予我） by the state of Maine. I hereby order you to serve two life sentences（终身监禁） back-to-back one for each of your victims. So be it!

• You feel you’ve been rehabilitated?（改过自新）
