1.Choose to download deb package for Debian/Ubuntu from here.
2.make sure lsb-core has been installed.
or run terminal.
sudo apt-get install lsb-core
3.Double click to install the deb downloaded in step 1, or use:
sudo dpkg -i google-earth-stable_current*.deb
4.Fix ugly, unreadable fonts.
install the MS TrueType font package.
sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer
then, logout and back in.
