我们为什么要学习scala

学习scala可能有很多理由，例如下面：

这个语言很强大，它试图去统一函数式编成和面向对象的编程并且做的不错，它有很多有趣的语言特性等等...。

但是我想从另一个的角度去看这个问题，我们只需要去看看有哪些人在维护和支持这个语言：

Martin Odersky：发明了scala语言! 写过javac编译器和scalac编译器，Programming in Scala的作者，Pascal语言创建者的弟子。

Martin Odersky created the Scala programming language and is a professor in the programming research group at EPFL, the leading technical university in Switzerland. Throughout his career, Martin's singular objective has been to make the basic job of writing programs faster, easier and more enjoyable. In the process, he has personally written more lines of Java and Scala code than almost any other individual in the world. He wrote javac, the compiler used by the majority of today's Java programmers, and scalac, the compiler used by the fast-growing Scala community. He authored "Programming in Scala," the best-selling book on Scala. Previously he has held positions at IBM Research, Yale University, University of Karlsruhe and University of South Australia, after having obtained his doctorate from ETH Zürich as a student of Niklaus Wirth, the creator of Pascal.

Rod Johnson：发明了Spring! JavaEE领域内绝对的专家。

Rod Johnson served as CEO of SpringSource since the company's inception, until its 2009 acquisition by VMware, where he was a Senior Vice President. Rod has more than 15 years of technology and management experience. Rod conceived of and initiated the development of Spring. The Spring Portfolio of open source projects was based on the code published with Rod's best-selling "Expert One-on-One J2EE Design and Development" (2002). This book was one of the most influential books ever published on J2EE and the sequel, "J2EE without EJB" (July 2004, with Juergen Hoeller), has proven almost equally significant, establishing a comprehensive vision for lightweight, post-EJB J2EE development. Rod is one of the world's leading authorities on Java and J2EE development and a thought leader on open source, as well as a popular speaker at conferences and symposia around the world. Rod holds a BA with Honors in Computer Science, Mathematics and Musicology as well as a Phd from the University of Sydney. Rod also currently serves on the boards of Neo4j and elasticsearch.

James Gosling：发明了Java!

At Sun Microsystems, James Gosling designed the Java programming language and implemented its original compiler and virtual machine. He has been a contributor to the Real-Time Specification for Java, and a researcher at Sun labs where his primary interest was software development tools. He then was the Chief Technology Officer of Sun's Developer Products Group and the CTO of Sun's Client Software Group. He briefly worked for Oracle after the acquisition of Sun. He is now at a startup called Liquid Robotics. Gosling received a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Calgary, Canada in 1977, and a PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1983.
