Being Blocked English Diary 08-12-09

Today, lots of news could make people really upset.

And I broke down and left the endless work behind. Such stress even made me feel physical uncomfortable.

I felt dizzy and exhausted. "I gonna left the desk right now" I said to myself.

Lots of things are blocked, google docs, spaces, verycd. you have heard that, no more P2P.

I went home when work is off. Others still stayed there to overtime.

 

Yes, Thanks to Teacher monkey. He brought me a good lesson about math and numeric expressons in english.

I really have to keep these in my mind

 

Like (1 + 2) / 5

we could say : quantity one plus two divided by five

 

And there are some mathematical vacubularies

fraction, multiple, decimals, equation, divisible, common denominator, lowest common multiple

minus number.

 

2/5 is 2 over 5

 

To descript the process of soluting equation is very challenging english practice. actually you have to say a lot of

things.

 

like (2/3) + (3/2)

I try it this way

First, we found the common denominator of both of quantities, that is 6.

so we could transform the first quantity 2 over 3 into 4 over 6.

In the same way, the second quantity could be turned into 9 over 6,

Then, 4 plus 9 equals 13, the answer is 13 over 6. because 13 is not divisible by 6.

 

Actually, I am still unable to illustrate every details with my english. I still have to work on it.
