In this paper, the author proposed a new framework of sky augmentation in outdoor videos. Different from the previous work is that this method is a purely vision-based solution and applies to both online and offline applications scenarios. The author’s method differs from other purely vision-based approaches in two aspects. First, the author considers the sky pixel segmentation as a soft matting problem which produces a more detailed and natural blending results against previous works who consider this problem as a pixel-wise binary classification problem.
