char类型有数据时可以转变为nchar,反过来不行

SQL> create table test_char(name char(2000));
 
Table created
 
SQL> insert into test_char values('test');
 
1 row inserted
 
SQL> commit;
 
Commit complete
 
SQL> alter table test_char modify name nchar(2000);
 
Table altered

有数据可以改变类型。

SQL> select * from test_char;
 
NAME
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
test

SQL> alter table test_char modify name char(2000);
 
alter table test_char modify name char(2000)
 
ORA-01439: column to be modified must be empty to change datatype

但nchar变为char就不行。

SQL> alter table test_char modify name varchar2(2000);
 
alter table test_char modify name varchar2(2000)
 
ORA-01439: column to be modified must be empty to change datatype

nchar变为varchar2也不行。

SQL> truncate table test_char;
 
Table truncated
 
SQL> alter table test_char modify name char(2000);
 
Table altered

 只好把数据删掉了nchar才可以变为char.
