Shared Folder between Host and VMware , Error: cannot mount filesystem: No such device

VMware Workstation : 15.5.1 build-15018445

Ubuntu : 18.04

vm@virtual-machine:~$ sudo mount -t vmhgfs .host:/HOST-VM-SharedSpace /mnt/hgfs/
Error: cannot mount filesystem: No such device

 

1. sudo apt-get install open-vm-tools

2. sudo apt-get install open-vm-tools-desktop

3. sudo mount -t vmhgfs .host:/HOST-VM-SharedSpace /mnt/hgfs/

    sudo vmhgfs-fuse .host:/HOST-VM-SharedSpace /mnt/hgfs/

4. restart your system.

Test:

1.

vm@virtual-machine:~$ sudo ls /mnt/hgfs
 a          'this is test file on windows.txt'
 desktop.ini  'this is test folder on windows'

2. vm@virtual-machine:~$ sudo cp -r /mnt/hgfs/test Downloads/a

OK.
