Last one is an optional parameter you can add that controls the opacity of the text.
The values available for 'a' rang between 0 to 255 (255 is opaque, which is the default value).

display.newGroup()
This function creates a group in which you can add and remove child display objects.

system.getInfo( param )
Valid values for parameters are as follows:
"name" --- return the name of device.
"model" --- return the device type, these include: "iPhone", "iPad", "iPhone Simulator", "Nexus One", "Droid", "myTouch", "Galaxy Tab".
"deviceID" --- return the unique id of the device.
"environment" --- return the environment that the app is running in, these include: "simulator", "device".
"platformName" --- return the platform name(OS name), that is, one of the following: Mac OS X, Win, iPhone OS, Android.
"platformVersion" --- as the name you see.
"version" --- return the version Corona used.
"build" --- return the Corona build string.
"textureMemoryUsed" --- return the texture memory usage in bytes.
"maxTextureSize" --- return the maximum texture width or height supported by the device.
"architectureInfo" --- return a string describing the underlying CPU architeture of the device you are running on.
system.setAccelerometerInterval( frequency )
This function sets the sample interval in Hertz. Hertz is cycles per second, the number of measurements to take per second.
