1.file and folder operations

# create a directory

mkdir directory name

#delete an empty directory

rmdir empty directory

#delete one or more files

rm directory

#delete a directory that is not empty

rm -rf non-empty directory

2.view server basic information and newwork configuaration

#display all information about the server

uname -a

#display server name

uname -n

#view network configuration

ifconfig -a

#show current online users

who

netstat

-t  #TCP protocol

-u #UDP protocol

-i #monitoring

-r #route

-n #display ip address and port number

common commands:

#view port 8080 occupancy

netstat -lnp|grep 80

#check the process number that occupies port 8080

fuser -v -n tcp 80

#end the process that occupies port 80

kill - 9 process id
