EPEL(Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux)的介绍与安装

一、EPEL简介

1、介绍

EPEL，即Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux的简称，由 Fedora 社区强烈打造的免费开源发行软件包版本库，为 RHEL 及衍生发行版如 CentOS、Scientific Linux 等提供高质量软件包的项目。包括但不限于Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS and Scientific Linux (SL), Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL)。

装上了 EPEL之后，就相当于添加了一个第三方源，会自动配置yum的软件仓库。

2、场景

CentOS中yum安装软件时报错：No package XXX available

此时通过安装EPEL即可解决。

二、EPEL安装

安装方式有以下几种：

(1) 在已配置好yum源情况下使用如下命令安装：

yum install epel-release -y
yum clean all && yum makecache

(2) 下载RPM包后安装：

wget https://mirrors.aliyun.com/epel/7Server/x86_64/Packages/e/epel-release-7-12.noarch.rpm
rpm -ivh epel-release-7-12.noarch.rpm
yum clean all && yum makecache

或者：

rpm -ivh https://mirrors.aliyun.com/epel/7Server/x86_64/Packages/e/epel-release-7-12.noarch.rpm
yum clean all && yum makecache

安装EPEL后，会生成如下文件：

/etc/yum.repos.d/epel.repo

 

三、可下载EPEL的地址

以下为CentOS7的地址，对于CentOS6等其他可通过以下地址寻找到。
