试用WPS（不是金山WPS，是World Programming System）

虽然自己开发了个山寨版的web-based SAS IDE，仍旧比SAS Editor好不了哪里去：只用语法高亮（CodePress已实现）而没有代码辅助功能。本来打算把MDK Editor（一个javascript写的在线代码编辑器，语法高亮和代码辅助功能兼而有之）hack一下，整合进SIDE的。自从上个礼拜发现WPS后，这个念头打消了。

 

WPS采用了强大的Eclipse开发平台，是我见到的最好的SAS IDE，看一下WPS Workbench就让我赞叹不已：

 

 

它不是免费的，我只能先试用。

去它的网站申请试用，没马上收到邮件（很多其它软件的试用都是系统自动给你发邮件的，能立即收到），以为申请没有发送成功，于是再次发送了一次（个人信息填写有些随意，相信很多人都有这个习惯）。

 

周末在家收到WPS的Martin的回信（人家老外就是认真，这种邮件竟然是人工处理的）

看来有点麻烦了，都怪自己填写信息太随意了。想办法补救一下，于是我马上给他回了封邮件

I thought I would receive the reply immediately when I sent the first request. But I didn't.

I was wondering if gmail had failed receiving the reply, or the request had not been sent successfully. So I tried the sencond time, using hotmail.

Now let me explain why you saw two versions of my info. I'm working for ***(short for ****** ). I'm from a Java background and work as a senior software engineer in the IT Apps department, but my boss would also like me to do some SAS programming, to assist John, manager of the STAT department.

I'm based in Shanghai, and the postcode 200000 is for our Shanghai office, while 200*** is for where I live.

Coming from a strong Java background I'm not really satisfied with the tools available for SAS source code manipulation, refactoring and SCL development.(注：这句是SLink作者 Thomas Vater 的原话) With the Google search engine, I found WPS, and I was impressed by its powerful Eclipse workbench...

We are considering to use SAS alternatives, as every year we have to pay a lot of money to the SAS company.

We want to compare WPS with SAS, and decide which one is better for us. (I'm now at home, searching on the internet for SAS alternatives)
