WHY DO IT:Getting malware off your computer shouldn’t require an epic effort rivaling the Fellowship of the Ring.

HOW TO DO IT: The plan includes these steps: Immediately unplug the computer in question from the network. Back up all your data; back up all personal data to a single folder. Inventory of all your installed applications, plug-ins, and components; note which ones you have to re-download and document the license numbers for software that requires them. Once everything is backed up or documented, format your hard drive and begin again. Finally, be sure to change any logon credentials you used online while exploited.
